About Pangot
Uttrakhand is the less- familiar sister of Himachal Pradesh. However, it is full of surprises and spots to visit. Located in the picturesque Kumaon region, Pangot is a delight at every view. As it is surrounded by snow-capped peaks, the Pangot’s charm is multiplied by the pleasant climate adding to the relaxed vibe of the town.
Another important feature of Pangot is the Sunset. Now, I understand that this might not seem like a big deal. But, when the skies start speaking around dusk,
your heart listens.

What is Pangot famous for?
Pangot is a small picturesque hamlet famous for its jungles and birds, located just 15 kms from Nainital. Walking into Pangot is like stepping into a remote Himalayan village. It is a birdwatchers paradise and have more than 300 species of birds in and around.
Kelbury Bird Sanctuary
The entire drive to reach Pangot is through the forested area of Cheena Peak Range via Snow View Point and Kilbury, the main habitats for excellent birding. The forests of Pangot and surrounding areas are dominated by thick Oak, pine and Rhododendron. The steams passing by the area makes it ever more attractive place.
