Naukuchiatal literally suggests a nine cornered lake perched at an elevation of 1220 mts above sea level in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand state. The length of the lake is approximately 1 km and it has a depth of around 40 mts. It is the deepest lake in the greater Nainital area.
Naukuchiatal is situated in an enchanting valley providing ample scope for boating, rowing, padding and yachting.

By Air: 62 km from Pantnagar airport.
By Train: 26 km form kathgodam Railway Station.
By Road: Naukuchatal is 26 kms from Nainital and 4 kms from Bhimtal. If some one come directly form Haldawani its distance is 32 km.
